Akademiska Hus nominated for sustainability prize

Wednesday, 15 October 2014
The newly established prize will be awarded to a property owner or property manager who, as a result of dedicated efforts at one or more existing buildings in Stockholm, has worked closely with tenants or residents and successfully implemented measures that have improved the sustainability of the properties, and introduced a life-cycle approach to the management and use of the premises.

The award of a gold rating, the highest level in the Miljöbyggnad (Environmental Building) certification system, for the extension to the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH campus, is the result of very close collaboration with the client, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). Sustainability issues concerning the indoor environment, energy conservation and materials were discussed in detail throughout the project. The project managers also gave lectures to built environment students at KTH and organised study visits.

The prize, entitled “Two is just the beginning” will be awarded on 10 November 2014 at the Sweden Green Building Awards, which will be held in the Golden Hall at Stockholm City Hall. The seven nominated property owners are:

  • Akademiska Hus
  • Atrium Ljungberg
  • Einar Mattsson
  • Fabege (x2)
  • Humlegården
  • City of Stockholm
