Kerstin Lindberg Göransson steps down as CEO of Akademiska Hus
Monday, 30 November 2020Kerstin Lindberg Göransson took up the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2011. Since then Akademiska Hus has undergone extensive reorganisation, resulting in a cohesive company instead of a Group with six regional subsidiaries. This restructuring set the stage for a more coordinated and powerful approach to campus development, sustainability and digitalisation.
During Kerstin’s leadership the company has invested about SEK 26 billion in knowledge environments for the country’s colleges and universities, received an expanded mandate that also includes construction and ownership of student housing, and adopted a vision for a zero carbon footprint. Akademiska Hus has also implemented a future-focused innovation strategy that has culminated in an array of collaborations with both centres of education and participants in the built environment industry.
“The past ten years at Akademiska Hus have been exciting and eventful. I am now looking forward to working with all of my talented colleagues to achieve the goals that we set in the strategy that extends to 2021. It will then be a good time to hand over the reins to someone else,” says Kerstin Lindberg Göransson.
“We would like to thank Kerstin for her tremendous dedication and efforts at Akademiska Hus and wish her all success in her future endeavours. Recruitment of a new CEO will begin immediately, says Anitra Steen, Chairman of the Board of Akademiska Hus.
