Humanistiska Theatre
Akademiska Hus and Uppsala University have created the Humanistiska Theatre, a new arena for humanities conversations. The building includes a theatre, office, meeting and teaching facilities and aims to promote a borderless dialogue where the humanities are at the centre. Here, academics, students and society meet to explore and discuss humanities issues both locally and internationally.

About Humanistiska theatre
Akademiska Hus, together with Uppsala University, has built an arena for the humanities conversation: the Humanistiska Theatre. In addition to the theatre auditorium, there is also office, meeting and teaching facilities.
The idea is that the theatre invites dialogue within the university between subjects and faculties, as well as between the university and the surrounding society - locally, nationally and internationally.
The Humanistiska Theatre also serves as a communication route for passage to and from existing buildings within Engelska Parken and is an addition to other institutions in the area. It also contributes to an active and vibrant campus area as the building is also accessible to independent businesses. It can also be used in the evenings for various events, lectures and meetings.
The theatre can accommodate about 140 people, with seats placed on a horseshoe-shaped grading area around the central area. The open conversation is promoted by the design where the audience sits facing each other with a smaller area centrally for mentors or conversation leaders. On one wall, which has no seating, there is a 32 sqm screen that opens up for conversations with participants from all over the world.

Certified level gold
The Swedish Green Building Council is a certification system for creating environmentally sustainable buildings. It is based on Swedish building and authority regulations as well as Swedish construction practices. The Green Building Council is an acknowledgement of important qualities of a building in terms of energy, indoor environment and materials, and is used for newly produced and existing buildings regardless of size. In the Green Building Council, a building can achieve the grade of bronze, silver or gold. Behind the certification is the non-profit association Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC).
Being a tenant in a certified building means a responsibility in the use of the premises and the building to create the least possible environmental impact. In order for the property to be able to maintain its certification, it is important that you as a tenant know what applies. For more information, please refer to our house guide.
