Ekonomikum, originally inaugurated as Hum C in 1975, is a central building at Uppsala University. The building, designed by architect Peter Celsing, was built in a design language influenced by structuralism with simple and rational building methods.
Ekonomikum
The building underwent a major renovation between 1997 and 1999 and was reopened as Ekonomikum in November 1999. Situated in a green area, Ekonomikum offers an inviting environment for students to study and socialize. The area is surrounded by student residences, convenience stores, and restaurants, creating an integrated and convenient campus experience. Close to Ekonomikum is also the Biotopia museum, which adds further cultural richness to the area. Ekonomikum is also the broadcasting location for Studentradion.
