Undervisningshuset

Undervisningshuset is a dedicated building with a focus on learning and teaching, where future learning environments and educational methods can be developed. It offers flexible spaces for various types of learning, ranging from practice rooms for teacher-led instruction to group rooms and individual study spaces. To ensure the use of the best and latest in pedagogy and knowledge environments, Akademiska Hus, KTH’s building department, as well as students and teachers, have been involved in the planning through a series of workshops and study visits. Undervisningshuset will be bookable for the entire KTH.

The building is intended to be used as a pedagogical tool and is designed so that it can be studied both via its sensors and visually. Therefore, the house features a visible construction and installation technique that allows students and visitors to concretely see how the building functions. In other words, a learning environment for the future.

The exterior of the house also plays an important role in the architecture and environment of the KTH Campus, where most of the buildings are constructed of brick from various eras. Undervisningshuset can be seen as the next step in the "brick evolution" with a brick facade that differs from a traditional one, as the bricks are shaped like a beaver tail, known as beaver-tail bricks.
