The costs of premises and the model of Akademiska Hus have come into focus in line with an increasingly tough financial situation for higher education institutions in Sweden in recent years. In a digital seminar on 18 October, a panel discussion was held on the Swedish model for properties for universities and colleges and the challenges we have to deal with for the campus of the future.
Akademiska Hus, the Ministry of Finance, the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF), the Swedish National Union of Students (SFS) and several higher education institutions are represented in the programme. The program also includes a report on the history of Akademiska Hus being founded in the early 90s and includes an interview with the then State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Bjarne Kirsebom.
The seminar was digital and the audience that participated in the live broadcast could participate via chat.
