Akademiska Hus Annual and Sustainability Report for 2021

Today, Akademiska Hus' Annual and Sustainability Report for 2021 is published. A year that for Akademiska Hus is characterised by, among other things, a gradual return to campus life and a new goal for climate neutrality and a new climate and energy strategy.

2021 was also a year that was largely affected by the pandemic. But it was also a year where society gradually opened up, we had more physical meetings again and life on campus could partially return. During the year, we saw an unexpected momentum in the economic recovery as a result of societies opening up and a continued presence of monetary policy stimulus.

During the year, the dialogue with higher education institutions has also continued about the way in which experiences from the pandemic affect campus development in the longer term. Changed behaviours in recent years have raised questions about the learning environments of the future and what changes in the physical environment will now be required.

New climate and energy strategy

The world's climate is changing and the time to reverse the trend and slow down climate emissions in society is short. Akademiska Hus' operations are climate and resource intensive. Therefore, we need to act forcefully to reduce our climate impact through our own actions and in collaboration with others. In this Annual Report, you can read about our new climate and energy strategy and our goal of reaching climate neutrality by 2035.
