Fastighetsnytt has taken the pulse of the 22 largest Swedish real estate companies' solar cell investments. In a survey, everyone was asked how much solar power they have and what the plans look like for the future. By dividing the installed capacity by the leasable area in 1000 square meters, the magazine has obtained a ranking score and created a top list. They have also assessed the companies' responses about goals and strategies in the area and rated them on a scale of 1 to 5 solars.
Akademiska Hus, together with Vasakronan and Castellum, receives five solar in ratings, thus placing itself at the top of the ranking.
"The result is of course very pleasing. Solar cells are an important part of our path towards climate neutrality and for creating sustainable campus areas around the country. Solar cells on our properties account for 1.5 percent of our and our tenants' electricity use, which in times of rising electricity prices also gives us extra security," says Erik Florman, Head of Sustainability at Akademiska Hus.
This is how Fastighetsnytt summarizes our results:
Property value: SEK 112 billion
Leasable area in a thousand sqm: 3,400
Solar cells installed power in kW: 12,000
Estimated solar power production in 2022 in MWh: 9,200
Ranking score: 3.53
Akademiska Hus is the real estate company in Sweden with the most installed power, but is not satisfied with it. Over the next few years, the company plans to take further action by installing more solar cell systems that, when completed, will contribute to Akademiska Hus' total solar electricity production being estimated to amount to just over 13,500 MWh per year. energy and to invest in locally produced renewable energy sources. Akademiska Hus receives a rating of 5 suns.
