How we develop sustainable campuses

We take responsibility for developing campus environments where knowledge, sustainability, innovation and quality of life meet. As a leading player in swedish real estate business, we want to create attractive places where people thrive, meet and grow – today and in the future. Through close dialogue with our customers and partners, we create knowledge environments that are based on local needs. Our sustainability work spans several areas – from ambitious climate goals and climate adaptation to the development of green campuses, efficient use of premises and socially sustainable environments. Together, we build campuses that contribute to a more sustainable society.

How do we create sustainable campuses?

Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy for 2026–2028 and rests on Agenda 2030 and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We have formulated seven long-term sustainability goals that guide our work forward. Together with our four focus areas for sustainable campuses and our responsibility throughout the value chain, they help us to steer and prioritize our development as a company.

Focus areas for sustainable campuses

We work closely with universities and higher education institutions on sustainability, and our success depends on our joint efforts. Our sustainability work is guided by our customers’ needs and local conditions. The framework for our sustainability targets is built around four focus areas for sustainable campuses.

Energy efficient campuses

We use energy efficiently and integrate flexible, fossil-free solutions across our campuses.

Green campuses

We develop green campuses to enhance biodiversity and create a more enjoyable campus environment.

Circular campuses

We reduce resource use and integrate circular materials and water systems.

Healthy campuses

We create socially sustainable and safe campus environments that promote health, wellbeing and social interaction.
