Building Guide
Classrooms, seminar, group, conference rooms, etc. in the "entrance building"
You can influence the room climate in these premises yourself, in the summer you change the current temperature via a room regulator by the door. If the regulator is turned towards plus, the room will be warmer and if it is turned towards minus, it will be colder.
In winter, you change the current temperature via the radiator under the window. There is a knob on the radiator. If it/it is turned towards a higher number, the room becomes warmer and if you insert a lower number, you lower the room temperature.
Keep in mind that changes in temperature may take a while to take effect due to the thermal inertia of the building.
Office, group room, etc. in the wings and computer rooms in the "entre building"
You can influence the room climate in these premises yourself.
In the summer, you change the current temperature via a room regulator by the door. If the regulator is turned towards plus, the room will be warmer and if it is turned towards minus, it will be colder. Cooling is obtained when the diode lights up green.
In winter, you change the current temperature via the radiator under the window. There is a knob on the radiator. If it/it is turned towards a higher number, the room will be warmer and if you set a lower number, you will lower the room temperature.
Keep in mind that changes in temperature may take a while to take effect due to the thermal inertia of the building.
Forced air flow:
In group rooms the air flow can be increased and in auditoriums the air flow must be increased by manually activating a timer by pressing a button every hour.
Normal airflow returns automatically after a set time.
Extended ventilation in the evening
Classrooms and administration wings:
If the ventilation is not in operation during evening work, it can be manually started via push buttons placed on the wall opposite the elevator on each floor of the main building. After the set time (approx. 2 hours), the ventilation is automatically switched off.
The push button towards the administration wing controls the wing and the other push button controls classrooms in the main building.
The button lights up when the extended ventilation is in operation.
Auditoriums:
Push buttons for extended ventilation are also available in the auditoriums. They are located near the podium.
Awnings
Some rooms are equipped with sun protection. These are lowered automatically in bright sunshine if the wind is not too strong (> approx. 7m/s).
The manual awnings are replaced with solar film.
Electric and magnetic fields
To minimize electric and magnetic fields, the electrical installation is carried out with separated neutral and protective conductors, i.e. a TN-S system, which is also called a 5-wire system.
The user's equipment must be adapted to a 5-wire system so as not to disturb other electrical installations. When purchasing and installing equipment, demands must be made for adaptation to a 5-wire system.
All wires and cables must be shielded.
Electricity, telephony and data
Power stations are located in locked areas on each floor. In the event of a power failure or tripped fuse, the fault must be rectified before the power supply is operational again. Contact Akademiska Hus in case of repeated power outages.
For connection of telecommunications and data equipment, contact the Department's telecommunications and data manager.
Lighting
Lighting in corridors and public areas is time-controlled. In addition to the set time, the lighting is switched on by the presence sensor and switched off again after the set time. A few luminaires are always on, so-called led lighting.
Exterior lighting is controlled automatically via timers.
Other lighting is switched on and off manually via push buttons.
Security alarm
In rest rooms and disabled toilets there are security alarms with red push buttons labeled "emergency signal".
The alarm is indicated locally with a sound and a red flashing light outside each room. As the security alarm is not relayed, it is important that you who see and hear this alarm contact the person concerned who needs help.
Alarms are reset by pressing the green reset button.
Emergency signal lift
If the elevator stops between floors, the emergency signal button must be pressed for at least 15 seconds.
A voice connection is then established via the emergency telephone with a staffed elevator emergency company that immediately takes measures.
Alarms from an activated emergency signal in the elevator are relayed both to Akademiska Hus and the elevator emergency company for the rescue of those in distress.
Outside the alarmed elevator, a siren sounds with a pulsating sound. The alarm is reset by Akademiska Hus.
Automatic fire alarm
There are smoke detectors in the building which automatically trigger an evacuation alarm in case of fire smoke. These are located in corridors and the like as well as in the central hall of the longitudinal body of the house.
The signal to evacuate is given via a spoken evacuation alarm within the parts of the house that need to be evacuated. Normally, the entire building is not affected.
Triggered alarms go directly to SOS Alarm and to Akademiska Hus.
Fires that cannot be extinguished with deployed hand fire extinguishers, see evacuation plans, must be alerted via telephone 112.
To manually trigger the evacuation alarm, there are push buttons next to the escape routes.
Sprinkler
The house is equipped with a water sprinkler system.
Triggered sprinkler alarms go directly to SOS Alarm and Akademiska Hus.
A sprinkler head bursts when the heat is too high and sprinkler water flows out. The sprinkler system can only be closed by responsible operating personnel.
Fire cells
The building is divided into a number of fire cells to prevent fire and smoke from spreading. Each fire cell is delimited by fire-rated walls and doors.
Doors in fire cell boundaries close automatically to prevent the spread of smoke and must never be blocked with wedges or other means.
Evacuation
Evacuate according to signs and evacuation plans.
Lifts must not be used in case of fire.
The meeting point is at the back of the building.
Car parking
A parking space intended for vehicles with a handicap permit is located adjacent to the building.
