Generally
Lighting in common areas, such as corridors, entrances and exterior lighting, is controlled by a central clock and light relay.
Office
The lighting in offices and labs is either presence-controlled or turned on via push buttons.
Stairs and corridors
The lighting is turned on in the morning and turned off in the evening by a central clock. The lighting can also be turned on via a push button and is then on for a set time.
Fire
Fire protection work is carried out on an ongoing basis. Generally, the landlord is responsible for fire protection outside the premises and the tenant for fire protection inside the premises. This is regulated in the lease agreement.
It is important not to store, place or leave anything in the stairwell or in public areas that could pose a fire risk, make it difficult to access and clean, or be disruptive to the well-being of the occupants.
Evacuation takes place via the respective stairwell. Each tenant is responsible for ensuring that there is an updated evacuation plan.
The building is equipped with an evacuation alarm in the event of a fire. In the event of smoke, smoke detectors trigger an evacuation alarm throughout the building and a signal to evacuate is given via a doorbell. Try to limit the source of the fire by closing windows and doors.
You can manually trigger the alarm yourself using push buttons in escape routes.
Detailed information about the building regarding fire cells, evacuation/assembly points, security alarms RWC, ventilation & gas alarms is formulated and described in the rental agreement. Contact your contact person at Akademiska Hus or customer service if you have any questions.
Personal and elevator alarms
It is possible to send an emergency signal from elevators. When the push button is held down for more than 15 seconds, a signal sounds outside the door and an alarm is sent to Akademiska Hus. After regular working hours, the alarm is sent to on-call staff or security guards.
Alarms from elevators are reset by operating personnel.
Heat
The house has a so-called waterborne heating system for heating elements on the outer walls. If it is cold in the room, check that the valve next to or under the element is open before reporting a fault.
The desired temperature is set using a thermostat placed on the element or, if available, via a room sensor placed on the wall.
Cold
Some rooms with a high heat load are cooled with cooling beams placed in the ceiling. The temperature is then controlled via a room sensor. In rooms where cooling beams are installed, the desired temperature can be set on the room regulator, which is placed on the wall.
Car parking
Parking spaces intended for vehicles with a handicap permit can be found close to the main entrance. Please see Campus map .
Entrances and lifts
The entrances are accessible and all floors can be reached via lift.
RWC
Toilets adapted for the disabled are available on each floor. At the RWC there are security alarms with red push buttons labeled "emergency signal". Alarms are reset inside each room by pressing the reset button.
Generally
Ventilation in the high-rise building sections runs 24/7 via the control system at Akademiska Hus.
The ventilation in the lower section (C) is started/stopped by a central clock, located in the Akademiska Hus operation center. At other times, the ventilation can also be started by timer ("overtime operation"). The ventilation then runs according to the set time.
The ventilation in Umex (D) is started/stopped by a central clock, located in the Akademiska Hus operations center.
The ventilation in the Incinerator runs at a forced speed during the day and at normal speed at other times. At other times, the ventilation can also be forced by activating a timer in the lab rooms.
However, remember not to open windows during the evenings and weekends, when the building is normally locked, as this may trigger an alarm!
Lab ventilation
The ventilation in the fume cupboards is regulated so that the air speed is constant in the fume cupboard opening. An acoustic and optical alarm is given from the indicator panel, on each fume cupboard, if the air speed in the door opening is exceeded or fallen below. Reduce the door opening when the low speed alarm is indicated. If the alarm has not been reset after 35-45 seconds, the power to the socket at the fume cupboard is cut off.
NOTE: Remember to close the fume hood door after use to keep energy consumption down.
