To create more efficient lighting, we are upgrading and switching to LED. In accordance with the new EU directives, which prohibit the import and manufacture of certain fluorescent and halogen lamps, we are taking a step towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable future by switching to modern LED alternatives in KBC.
The work has now begun and will continue throughout the autumn and until the end of 2027. The lighting replacement will start on floor 4 and then continue downwards in the property. There will be some impact in the form of noise, but it is expected to be relatively short-lived.
There will also be some physical impact when the work is taking place in the corridor and office/lab. This is continuously coordinated with those responsible at Umeå University.
