Campus development

The learning environments of the future

How we develop environments for active learning

Hundreds of thousands of students and researchers spend their everyday lives in our properties and we feel a great responsibility to provide the best possible conditions. This is how we can strengthen Sweden as a knowledge nation. With this as a starting point, we create learning environments that are appropriate over a long period of time.

Support and sharing knowledge

We work actively for more flexible and varied learning environments that meet changing educational needs and put students' learning at the center. In close collaboration with various higher education institutions, we work with development and innovation projects to increase the element of environments that support student-active learning. Our expertise includes both learning and study environments, and we also work with hybrid solutions and outdoor environments. Akademiska Hus' presence in several locations provides the opportunity to contribute to knowledge transfer and that successful examples and methods benefit more people.

Learning Lab – testbeds for the learning environments of the future

In close collaboration with the University of Gothenburg, Umeå University and Örebro University, our properties serve as test beds for innovation, research and development on the learning environments of the future.

Learning Lab – University of Gothenburg, Sweden

Testbed with unique opportunities for more flexible learning at Chalmers campus Johanneberg.

Learning Lab – Örebro University

A test environment on campus that provides better support for a more student-active teaching and learning.

Learning Lab – Umeå University

An exclusive test environment with a lot of technology to explore and take hybrid learning to a new level.

Outdoor learning environments

Which learning activities can be carried out outdoors with the same quality as indoors and how can learning environments be designed to make it attractive to move outside? With campus as a test bed, we explore the outdoor environment as a learning environment together with SLU Alnarp.
