Aha and our sustainability work can win an award

Aha and the sustainability work we presented at the seminar "Circularity for more sustainable campus development" have been nominated for the Recycling Gala. The winners will be announced on November 24 at Berns in Stockholm.

The Recycling Gala is organized annually by the magazine Recycling and is a way to highlight the recycling industry's many successful, wise and courageous companies. Akademiska Hus is one of three finalists in the category "Circular Building Initiative of the Year" with the motivation "Akademiska Hus' initiative "Circularity for more sustainable campus development" is a unique initiative that has kick-started material inventories and circular projects around the country. The lessons learned are shared free of charge through the AHA seminar series."

At the seminar, which was held on 15 March this year, we and a number of guests focused on climate responsibility in the construction and real estate industry and how we can use circular processes to find new ways to the knowledge environments of the future and contribute to the transition to a sustainable society. Through the reuse of materials and through a transition from the linear to the circular, there is great potential for a reduced climate footprint and for us to reach our goal of climate neutrality.

About Aha

Aha is an initiative from Akademiska Hus for more inspiration and in-depth knowledge about how to develop knowledge environments in different ways. Through events around Sweden and the world, we want to broaden the perspective of how we can create sustainable conditions for students and researchers in their everyday lives. In addition to the fact that you can read and be inspired by architecture, campus and urban planning via the Aha platform on the web, there is also the opportunity to discuss issues within our themes at our Aha events. We want Aha to serve as a source of inspiration for everyone who works with knowledge environments in various ways, but also as a meeting place for more dialogue in seminars and panel discussions. Many of the issues relating to campus development are crucial for how Sweden is to develop as a knowledge nation in the long term, and therefore we need to find more ways to discuss and exchange experiences.
