Information letter week 45-46 2025

Campus safety walk completedA safety walk was held on campus on September 25. Participants in the walk were Akademiska Hus, LTU, representatives from the unions at LTU, Luleå Municipality, Rikshem, Studentbostäder and Teknikens Hus.The purpose of the walk was to ensure a safe campus by identifying areas that need action on and adjacent to the campus. Examples of areas identified include: areas with increased lighting needs, areas in need of clearing undergrowth, areas with poor visibility/risk of accidents, poor accessibility due to bicycles, areas in need of upgrading, road safety, and information needs.The issues that arose during the hike have been partially addressed and will be worked on in the coming time.

Information letter week 45-46 2025

House AInstallation of solar cells is underway at Building A. We have paused all exterior work during the exam period weeks 43-44.Next week, November 5-7, we will begin taking down the safety barrier and the stair tower so that a crane/crane truck can be used to and from these days, and a crane truck may also come and pick up counterweights during week 46.Otherwise, mainly interior work is underway in technical areas.

Outdoor environmentThe lighting replacement is still underway in the courtyards at Building E and in Building A. Leaf removal in gutters and on roofs is being carried out on all buildings.House AInstallation of solar cells is underway at Building A. Repairs will be made shortly.The lighting replacement in the light yard is taking a break and the work will continue in week 51.House ELighting replacement in classrooms and in corridor E230 The Pussen projectWeek 45A few additions are being made, including wooden decking and sheet metal for windbreaks.Week 45 and 46The remaining lighting poles, which have been delayed by the supplier, will be installed and put into operation during week 45.Final inspection will be carried out at the end of week 46.
