Work to replace ventilation units in the ALFA building is underway.

Work to replace ventilation units in the ALFA building is ongoing. This may cause disturbing noise during both daytime and evening hours, as well as contractors moving in the corridors. Most of the work is being carried out in the basement areas of the ALFA building, but new cooling pipes will be installed between the technical rooms in the ALFA and A buildings. Drilling in the corridors has been completed, now the work to install cooling pipes in the corridors that connect the technical room and the fan room between the ALFA and A buildings will begin. Work in the A building will not start until after week 23. During week 24, some blocking of areas that connect these technical rooms will be necessary.

Information letter week 23-24 2025 - Project Pussen

Project Pussen Project Pussen is now underway! The project includes improvements to the outdoor environment around Pussen, including new windbreaks, a new wooden deck, a new square area, and other measures to enhance comfort in the area. The work is expected to be completed around the turn of October/November 2025. As of week 22, the project has commenced with upgrading the paving near the bus stop on Universitetsvägen. From Monday 2 June, work will begin on a new crossing over Universitetsvägen, and parts of the area south of Universitetsvägen will be prepared. This means that Universitetsvägen will be closed to through traffic from that date. The car park west of Pussen will only be accessible via Haparandavägen, and the car park east of Pussen via Porsövägen. The car park between the Beta building and Polstjärnan student accommodation will be accessible via Porsövägen. As part of the project, several parking spaces west of Pussen will be taken out of use starting Monday 2 June, as the area will become part of the new outdoor environment. The barriers along Universitetsvägen will be adjusted over time, which means that access to each parking area may vary

The Students’ House and House KWe will carry out minor electrical work in the buildings to address the points identified during the electrical inspection. Electrical inspections are a requirement for Akademiska Hus, in which an inspector reviews items related to electrical safety and fire protection. This is an important part of ensuring that no harm occurs to people or buildings. If you notice or identify any irregularities in the electrical systems—such as broken sockets, damaged switches or light fittings-we encourage you to submit a fault report and notify us of the issue

We will conduct minor repairs in rooms A107, A108, A110 and A111, focusing on addressing the condition of windowsills. Toilet A229 is temporarily closed due to minor maintenance. Outdoor environment We have planned to clean and rinse the artwork Snabeldjuret, located by Building A. Snabeldjuret is one of several artworks situated in and around the buildings on Campus Luleå. It was created by the artist Björn Fjellström and has been on campus since 1980. In 2016, in connection with the renovation of Building A, the artwork was moved to its current location. It now overlooks the square and the artwork The Fountain – Human Building, which is also one of the campus installations. The Piffl box is now in place on campus, offering the opportunity to borrow sports and leisure equipment. The box will be free to use until the end of the year. Information on how it works and how to use the equipment is available on site. We are also continuing work on the outdoor environment with resurfacing around drains and inspecting potholes across the campus area.
